This exhibition focusing on the transitional stage from the modern period to the contemporary period in East, Southeast, and South Asia features 140 works. Because various categories including the city, history, and philosophy and artists from different countries are mixed, we decided to bend the walls in a complex way and allocate an appropriate wall length for each theme. This wall configuration makes the works to come in and out of view one after another, allowing the audience to relive the chaos and heat of the transitional stage.
東・東南・南アジアの各地域において、近代から現代への転換期に焦点を当てた本展では、約140点の作品を展示する。都市、歴史、思想といったカテゴリーと各国別の作家とが混在するため、壁面を複雑に折り曲げて、ひとまとまりのテーマごとに壁面長を割り当てることとした。これによって次々と作品が視界に入ったり隠れたりを繰り返すこととなり、観客は時代の転換期の混沌と熱量を追体験することになる。
